Kilcommon / Rearcross made the journey to Cloughjordan on Saturday morning to kickstart the new season. Conditions might have been wet but that did little to stop the enthusiasm of the visiting side. Within minutes of the start Aileen Rochford had put the Kilcommon / Rearcoss side ahead after a great piece of individual skill. A second goal for the visitors came midway through the first half compliments of Aaron Lenihan. Cloughjordan fought hard to get back into the game and were rewarded on the 20th minute when a free kick for the home side found the back of the net. Kilcommon / Rearcross were not to be outdone however and Joseph Dawson was at hand to make it 3-1 when he struck from close range before the break. The second half saw Kilcommon / Rearcoss extend their lead when Tristan Deegan found the net after great work from the midfield. Cloughjordan found it difficult to get a foothold in the game at this stage and further goals from Cathal Malone and Ellie Kennedy assured a great win for the visiting side.
